Position Title: Core Facility Manager for Cancer Cell Diagnostics Research Lab, Full Time

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

Position Summary: Manage laboratory and blood sample processing on microfluidic based diagnostic platform. Laboratory set up and interaction with medical facilities supplying patient samples for screening. Duties will include following work flows developed for patient screening program.

Responsibilities Include: Management of junior staff in robotics, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques. New laboratory set up including equipment purchasing, workflow process design, and interaction with engineering staff.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. plus 5 years of industry experience. Knowledge of cell biology, flow cytometry, experience with isolation and analysis of circulating tumor cells, CTC, and cell free DNA, cfDNA, blood based diagnostic analysis is a plus. Experience in liquid biopsy, strong molecular and cellular background in trouble shooting and assay development are important. Strong leadership and able to grow into a guiding role of a larger team. Cell biology background in the field of cancer biology is required.

Position Title: Manufacturing Assistant, Full-time

Location: San Diego, CA

Position Summary: Responsible for the manufacture of microfluidic chips for use in blood diagnostics and continuous improvement of existing processes.

Responsibilities Include: Microfluidic chip cleaning and thermal bonding, application of surface molecules to microfluidic chips, quality control testing, optimization of assay performance, report writing, preparation of SOPs.

Required Qualifications: B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology with relevant laboratory experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to follow the detailed procedures in existing protocols are essential. GMP experience and knowledge of ISO is a plus.

Position Title: Software Engineer, Full Time

Location: San Diego, CA

Position Description: Responsible for helping to develop software for the Hamilton Star Liquid Handler. As an entry level Software Engineer you will be tasked with addressing system bugs, low level test client development, toll development, software testing, and custom support for API and other custom integration tasks. In addition, Tasks will also include generating test plans, test results and other documentation as required. Interfacing with bench scientists to accurately migrate manual processes to the automated instrument.

Required Qualifications:

  • .NET C#, Object Oriented Design (OOD), SQL, UML, WCF, WPF, RESTful, Robotics / Motion Control experience is desired.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, or an Engineering field with experience in software.

Position Title: Senior Research Associate, Full Time

Location: San Diego, CA

Position Summary: We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated candidate with strong work ethics for the position of senior research associate to assist in development and validation of microfluidic chips and processes for analysis of circulating tumor cells, CTC, in test and clinical samples.

Job description: The SRA will be responsible for maintaining cell lines and providing as well as organizing the means to provide high quality cell culture reagents to researchers on a dynamic basis. This person will also participate in execution and optimization of current protocols as well as development of QC assays for multi-step processes. The SRA will aid the other company functions including microfluidic chip production, experimental analysis, and laboratory management. The successful candidate must be willing to take on new job related responsibilities and vary work schedule to accommodate company needs. This may require occasional long work days, and traveling to other sites on company business. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in biological or Bioengineering sciences
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Must have experience with mammalian tissue culture including routine maintenance of multiple cell lines, mycoplasma testing, cryopreservation and organization of cell inventory
  • Familiarity with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, automation, and microscopy is highly desirable
  • Previous experience with human blood or CTC isolation is a plus
  • Must display strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required. The candidate is required to keep detailed records of experiments and prepare presentations on a regular basis
